My Commission Process
I welcome the opportunity create a custom piece of art for your home. My goal is to create a piece that beautifully blends your distinctive tastes and with my artistic touch.
Here step by step overview of my commission process:
Step 1: Consultation
After receiving your commission inquiry, we’ll meet, have a phone conversation and/or exchange emails. I'll use this time to get to know you and your vision for the piece. Together we'll make decisions regarding dimensions, design style and color palette. My existing body of work can be used as a conversation starting point to determine the elements your piece will comprise.
It is important to note that I cannot exactly replicate any painting or other artwork, even one of my own pieces.
Our consultation will allow me estimate the amount of time needed to complete your project and when I will be able to schedule its start. The amount of time to complete a commission will vary based on project type and scope, framing requirements and my schedule.
Step 2: Commission Fee and Deposit
Once your project specifications have been decided, I'll share the commission fee. Once the commission fee has been agreed on, I will send a contract and an invoice for 50% of the fee — a non-refundable deposit. The balance, plus shipping, will be invoiced once the project has been completed — before the work ships.
I accept credit cards, checks or cash, and payment plans are possible.
Step 4. Work Begins
Upon receiving a signed contract and the deposit, I’ll begin working on your project by the agreed to date.
While working on your project, I'll email pictures to update you on my progress throughout the process. I welcome your feedback. A limited number of changes will be allowed without incurring additional fees.
Step 5: Final Review and Payment
When the project is complete, I’ll send final pictures for your review and sign-off. Upon approval, I'll invoice you for the balance of the commission fee plus the estimated shipping cost. Once received, your work will be securely packaged and shipped to you.
If you are not pleased with the final piece, you may decline the work and I will list the piece in my online shop. Your 50% deposit can be used as credit toward another purchase. Please know that I will work hard to ensure that you love your custom piece.
